Hi, from me aka Stupid. My need was for a joist bridge, not a lamp/fan support brace. Well this is a well built electrical support brace. If your need is for a strong brace this will do the job. Actually with some grinder/cutter work and some carpentry it may satisfy my need. One point, the brace requires a lot of access, as indicated by its name "New Construction Brace".
