PollenTec Box Fan Air Filter PollenTec Clean Air Window Screen Pollentec's New Nano Screen Filtration Technology
I bought this size because it was recommended by Amazon for the Lasko Wind Tunnel fan that I bought. However, it is too wide. I was able to cover the vent but it covers a most of the back of the fan in addition to the vent. Installation is fairly easy if you attach the Velcro to the filter before removing the tape to attach it to the fan.Living in the desert, I will still use it and may buy the same size for older fans since it will fit them better.Don’t bother with the Velcro screen to keep dust out. You could make it netting, Velcro, and glueThe screen is very pleasing to the eye and on the fan ( Dreo Tower Fan ) and looks very easy to clean ( just vacuum) but highly over priced, I actually purchased a roll of Charcoal Mesh cut to size and added Velcro to the sides And Wala the same product at a quarter of the priceI bought two filters that were designed specifically for my fan. It was extremely easy to install and I was able to use the second filter on another 42" Lasko fan I already have. Fans in this desert climate collect a lot of lint and dust; hopefully, the filters will help reduce my wife's allergic reactions.Very effective at trapping dust & pet hair. Prevents the build up of crud inside the fan. I have this filter on 3 identical Lasko tower fans, and the appropriate filter on another Lasko box fan. The filter significantly reduces the airflow through the box fan only. Don't know why.I bought a cover to go on the back of it so it would be easier to clean and the filter wouldn’t get so dirty the adhesive that is on the cover to stick to the fan it’s not gonna work that great because the cover isn’t Wide enough to go across The back of the fan. And again it does not blow very hardI can't stand dust in the air and this does a pretty good job of clearing it. You can get much better air cleaning power by taping an HVAC filter on the front of a box fan, but the downside of that is that the dust goes through your box fan first. The other downside is that you have to buy a new HVAC filter for your fan every year or so (depending on how dusty your house gets). This thin filter catches dust before it enters the fan, so you don't have to clean the inside of the fan so much. You can vacuum off the dust or rinse the filter. Hard to get the filter totally clean, but pretty simple to keep it workable. This is a great filter to keep dust and other filth out of a fan and keep it running cleaner for a long time! It's well more than a "plastic" film, as it's a fine woven polyester screen that is used to cover the back of the fan, the area where air enters before being circulated out to the front.Since this filter is generic and meant to be used with many fans, I had to forego the instructions it came with to attach it properly to my Lasko 42" (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000RL1WNQ) fan. I followed the following steps: - Leave both velcro strips attached to the filter and keep the tape on. - Hold the filter in a few positions at the back of the fan to get an idea of how to best cover it. - Once you have the best position identified, gradually start removing the tape at the top of one strip and stick it to the fan body. - De-tape that side all the way down and progressively stick it to the fan. - Now wrap the filter along the fan such that it is taut. Then start removing the tape on the other strip to stick it to the fan in a similar fashion. - After both strips are stuck to the fan firmly, adjust the velcro to remove any creases or folds in the filter.Enjoy!Great fit for almost any tower fan. Only been using it for one week now, but truly amazing how much dust accumulated in that time. Really a good simple product to extend the life of your fan. This help clean my air and fan last longerDust control
