I am so pleased with this evaporative cooler. I don't really like mobile air conditioners--they are noisy and sometimes chilling, expensive to operate, need regular draining (which I can't do), and the plugs seem to rot and can't be replaced, and they need venting which means they really aren't too mobile.Okay, so here's this small evaporative cooler that cools a large space, isn't too noisy, is easy to wheel into other rooms, only needs an outlet and some air space, and doesn't need to be dragged outside to drain. I wheel it into the kitchen when I'm cooking and back into the living room when I'm done. The reservoir needs to be filled, and while I can just carry a pitcher to the living room, I find it easier to roll it to the kitchen and fill it there. When it's empty, it takes about seven 2-quart pitchers of water, but you don't have to wait until it's empty to refill it.Since it cools by a fan blowing air over the reservoir, I'm sure it probably uses a lot less elecrricity and doesn't get as dirty as an air conditioner.
